Vims, for the beak I made a granny triangle square, and folded it in half and sewed the under open area shut, then sewed the open back end on with the bird head while sewing the whole bird together. I never expected that beak shape to take place, but it does look just perfect as you said! Got lucky there since I was just 'winging' it on this bird! LOL
