Snowman wall hanging

Ok, here are some better pictures of the post below. Having trouble getting the green background to show up without washing out the white.

Snowman wall hanging

This is my own creation. I had a giant green granny square to do something with. I added a red border and made a snowman to put on the square. I folded the two side points of the squares over and sewed them in place for a more interesting look. While sewing the snowman on, I stuffed it with a small amount of stuffing to give it a bit of a raised look. I added buttons and a carrot mouth, a scarf, and some sticks for arms. I couldn't get the green to show up good on the square.

Christmas trees

Here are a few trees I made so far. I like the one on a solid background best. The pattern can be found here .

Double strand stars

I used combinations of reds, greens and white, off white to make these using 2 strands. They sure are colorful! I was so anxious to take the pics I haven't done the ends yet:) The link to a pattern for the stars is below in the next post.

More stars!

Here are some stars I made with one strand, 2 strands follow....

I found these stars here and here and the pattern is here . Although, you can pretty much see the pattern just by looking at them as I did.

Seeing Stars!

Stars made from 2 strands of Christmas colors.

O Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree....

I found this over the weekend while in PA in a Goodwill shop for 3 bucks. It's kinda old and smashed flat, but still good.

I wanted to make my own from it, so I tried to figure the pattern out....
Six hours later.....
I made a little red rug for it and a snowman too :) I made garland and bought little decorations for it from Joanns. I want to make a brown bottom stump for it still...poor snowman looks sad:(

French toast and homemade sauce

This is a non-crochet related post, but hey, we yarnaholics have to eat too right?

While making french toast for breakfast this morning, I created this sauce to go on it. The average person probably uses butter and maple syrup on their french toast, so I made it into a sauce with a few other ingredients. You'll need:
1 large banana
about 2 TB butter
1/4 maple syrup
vanilla
cinnamon
nutmeg

Put all this into a small saucepan. I sliced the banana into thin slices then kinda mashed them smaller with a whisk. Heat this mix on low while your making the french toast, stirring now and then. That's it!
This was enough for 2 adults, so make more for the kids! It is GOOD! :)

Recycled!

I had this air bag thing from a package, and wanted to do something with it so I turned it into a little pillow.

Little guy likes it too......

Convertible hat

This is a convertible hat from www.aprildraven.blogspot.com . It is adult sized, so it's a little big on my model, but you can see the 3 ways you can wear it. Very nice pattern.

Hooded Scarf

This pattern is from Lion Brand's website. I followed the pattern exact, but made mine a little longer. Instead of ch 193, I did ch 225. And I used Red Heart Earth & Sky total of 15oz's. Here is the link... http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/cwes-scarves.html

Same test pattern of mine I used in the post below this, only I made it a potholder to be useful. :) I used Bernat cotton Tavern Green and Lily & Cream red. Now I have a Christmas potholder for the kitchen :) This first pic is the backside....wrong pic order ;) but it looks pretty cool too.

I like the 3D look of the pattern thought you can't see it well in this picture.

Newest creation

Just a sample of something new I created. Pics didn't come out well, I tried to show the 3D look on the square. It kind of looks like a picture frame granny square.

Wool Eater

While browsing through Granny Along Blogs last night, I saw this cool wool eater pattern. I just had to try it. These are the 2 current colors on my computer/crochet desk...LOLOL so I used em for testing it. It came out nice but takes forever to do one row....and if you've ever done this pattern, you know that 2 rows really equal one row. Yes, you go around twice for one colored row. But it looks really neato! I am going to try some other things with this pattern tomorrow :)

Hoodie/sweater

This sweater is from the pattern in the October issue of Crochet World magazine. The boy in the picture in the magazine must be wearing the size 10. They have sizes for 4, 6, 8 & 10 for this pattern. My little guy is 2 1/2 so I did size 4. I think this pattern is just not quite right for the smaller size. First, the hood is WAY to big for a size 4. Next, the pocket on the front is the same size for all 4 sizes, and it takes up the entire front of the size 4. The arms seem too long and the body too short. And the ribbing around the bottom should be a bit tighter than the sweater, but it actually fans out making it look girlish. The amount of yarn you need for the main color and size 4 they say is 25oz. I used less than 16 oz.

I used Caron deep violet & Bernat dark sage for the trim.

Gigantic granny!

I made this 7 foot granny square back in winter/spring of this year using up all my old purples & green Caron and Red Heart yarns.
