It's been awhile since I posted anything, so thought I'd stop in and show you all what I've been working on :)
This blanket is my own creation, I've been working on it all of Feb. so far. I'm near done all the squares, and I've some ideas for it after that! You'll have to wait till it's done though to see more......:)I had to try Lucy's flower, cute isn't it? Other than my bad picture. I did a few changes and turned the next one into a sunflower. I think I like this one better and may do more if I ever finish this blanket above.
The sunflower I made with 2 strands, and it's 28 inches tall!!!
I've also been experimenting with the Basketweave stitch, some of you may know from my twitter posts if you follow me. This is with variegated yarn, which I didn't really like. It just looks too mixed up.
This is with 2 strands together...
I like this one best so far. I skipped to 10 stitches between 'weaves'. It just looks nice. I don't think I'd want to do a whole blanket with this stitch though, I know I'd get bored with it and away it'd go!
Then I tried using fabric with crochet. Definitely a future possibility for a blanket! I sewed these 2 purple fabric squares so both sides were 'right side', then using a sewing needle I sewed my yarn through it, then continued 'grannying' around. I like them, but it's not quite what I had in mind. Need to try some other ways of doing this. Has anyone done anything like this? I'd love to see it if so, just send me a link please! :) I googled it, but hardly anything came up.
Happy Leap Day!!!!!

Your blanket looks great. And I LOVE the flower, especially my fave the sunflower. I have to try this one. I haven't tried that basket weave stitch yet. Is it hard. Happy Leap day. http://crochetapy.blogspot.com/2012/02/wip-wednesday.html
Beautiful works!

I love your square blanket! Did you join the squares as you went along or did you sew them together?
Esther.
I made one of Lucy's flowers, they are fun. I love sunflowers, so I dig yours! I started a blanket for my husband with the basket weave stitch and it has sat in my closet for over a year waiting to be completed. I can't bring myself to do it, it's just too much work! I think I'll frog it. It's a cool stitch but a bit much for a blanket.
You've been busy! Love your blanket. And the sunflower. I have the pattern from Lucy but haven't done one yet.
Hi, I've mixed crochet and fabric, but not in the way you did it, which looks lovely. I made "fusion bunting"
if you're interested, it's on my blog, the post titled "fusion bunting" :-)
I like the fabric in the center that looks cool. Love the flowers!
Dear Nancy, I tired to make Lucy's flower last night. It was terrible I can't show it unless I make the good one. I like your fabric squares with granny crochet. I have some fleece fabric pieces. So I can try to make a little blanket as you showed.. Thank you..
I'm loving the crochet bordered fabric. I just saw Grateful 4 Crochet's blog where she crocheted around a triangular fabric piece for a bunting she's making. I think I'm going to experiment with this over the weekend and see what I come up with.
Your blanket is gorgeous - love the colors.
The flowers are beautiful. To you have a link to the lucy flower?

I love the idea that you turned Lucy's flower into a sun flower! I may have to borrow that idea. My son loves sunflowers and he would love it in his room.
Your blanket is beautiful and of course the flowers are very pretty. :)
Hi Nancy, I have nominated you for the Sunshine Award so please visit my blog! :)
