Happy New Crochet Doilies Year!

Happy New Year to everyone! I've been way behind on showing you all my stuff I've been making. I don't know why I can't just blog every day or so like everyone else does, but....I'm here now! :)
So here is what I've been doing lately. Doilies, and more doilies! Totally addicted to them:) I actually prefer thread to yarn now! Haha! After 10 or so years of yarny crochet, I just started doing thread work in September. It was hard getting used to the tiny needles and too small thread, but I've gotten over that now! I started with size 5 thread, and now use 10. Have some 20 to try but don't think I'd go smaller than that. I like my Susan Bates hooks in sizes 1.75 and the 1.50 best.

This pattern above and below is from a Crochet World magazine. Prefect pattern!
These are just a few, I have plenty more! Blogger won't let me load alot at once:) If you follow me on Instagram you might have already seen them....or will soon!

New Doilies!

I've been working on doilies lately. This blue one is about 2 foot across, and I used size 5 thread, 2.75mm hook.  It's hard getting used to the small thread and smaller hooks coming from 12 years of yarn, lol. But this came out very nice!
Then I tried another pattern, used three colors, same thread and hook size. That pattern was ok, but the last 4 rows, which I didn't do were a pain in the butt! So it ended with the red you see below. That doily is about a foot around.
This last one is my own creation. Daring huh? LOL I used my own Japanese Flower Pattern, which is down the right side here on my blog if you'd like it. I also used size 10 thread for this doily, and a smaller hook, 1.65mm. Gosh was that frustrating! Too small, and it leaves the stitches too big because I'm not used to it. But this did come out ok. It's about 10 inches. I've started a few other doilies using the smaller hooks but it's just not working out well. I'm doing a turquoise one of the first blue one above now, using size 10 thread, and a 2.75mm hook. That is working out good for me, just leaves bigger spaces between stitches I guess. It's looking good thought! I will put more photos up once it's done. I'll also try to find where I got the pattern for it.

My Favorite Ripple/Granny-ghan

I made this awhile ago, combining the ripple with granny squares in my favorite colors.

It seems I can only load two pictures in posts from the Blogger app on my phone. Oh well.
