Bowls and Birds!

This was my first attempt at crocheting with fabric. I have many rolls of this fabric I got from Freecycle many years ago when I lived in Pennsylvania. Never really knew what to do with them, they were an added bonus with some yarn I got. It was a little difficult at first crocheting with it, had to change needle sizes a few times, but I got it down. Not to bad, it's fairly stiff and holds shape ok.

Some bird pictures I took with my camera from inside the house. Not sure the top birds name, below is the male Cardinal.

Bluejay above and female Cardinal below. We've had lots of snow and wind this winter, and I think the ground hog was wrong this year! We certainly are not having an early spring here in central New York. In fact, we have yet another storm coming tomorrow night with 6-12 inches and more wind. Geez. It just never ends!
On a brighter note, I have 2 shawls that I am just about finished with, and should have pics up here by tomorrow!!! One is made with the Catherine's Wheel stitch, and the other is a granny square style! If you follow me on Instagram, you might have already seen them partially finished! You can see the pictures on the right side of my blog under Instagram!

Lucky you! I love your basket and it does look sturdy. Great bird pictures. I have seen all of them as well in my yard and at my bird feeder except the Bluejay. Can't wait until they are back! Hoping for Spring soon!

Take care,
Eileen:)

the baskets look great - is it just strips of fabric? Like t-shirt yarn?
